The 19th annual Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run or Ride will be held on Sunday 10 July 2022. This event takes place on Australia’s longest recreational rail trail and is an initiative of Somerset Regional Council. The event is about sharing an active and healthy lifestyle with family, friends or work colleagues and enjoying the best of what the Somerset region has to offer. Participants have the choice of running or walking 3km or 8km or a 25km bike ride along the historic Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, enjoying breathtaking views of the Brisbane Valley and Brisbane River.

Here in Somerset, we love nothing more than to kick up the dust at a country rodeo or gaze up to the skies at an air show. We’ve got you covered from soil to sky with events to excite and amaze, all year round.

With lakes and landscapes second to none, our Somerset scenery is the perfect backdrop for our diverse calendar of annual events. Our events range from rodeos, bull rides, cattle sales, country races and campdrafts to

air shows, skydiving festivals, food fairs and sporting events.

With regular Parkruns held at Lake Wivenhoe and Kilcoy, you can run to your heart rate’s content. There are events galore held along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail throughout the year to delight cyclists, runners, and horse riders alike.
