Visit Linville and watch our garden grow at the Linville Community Garden.
Check out the entry to the Linville Community Garden. This magnificent sculptural installation has been designed to create a sense of place in our village and highlight our heritage and character. The artwork reflects Linville’s connection with its railway and forestry heritage as well as its rich agricultural surroundings.
Artist Merton Chambers and Blacksmith Kim Duff collaborated on this piece. The gateway is designed as a traditional farm entry. It looks like it is built from massive rough-hewn wood but in fact, it is made of hand carved and rusted steel. The intricate figures atop the gateway show men and women at work in a garden in silhouette form. Each figure was drawn by Merton and painstakingly hand forged by Kim.
Enjoy a walk down the wide pathway through the garden or stroll over the boardwalk to the Jam Wall to check out the climbing fruit plants, see the vision for the various ‘garden rooms’ of the future and sit and enjoy the space and the beauty of being one with the outd
