This Somerset Rail Trail Classic takes place on Australia’s longest recreational rail trail and is an initiative of Somerset Regional Council. The event is about sharing an active and healthy lifestyle with family, friends or work colleagues and enjoying the best of what the Somerset region has to offer.
Participants have the choice of running or walking 3km or 8km or a 20km or 44km bike ride along the historic Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, enjoying breathtaking views of the Brisbane Valley and Brisbane River.
The 23rd annual Somerset Rail Trail Classic will be held on Sunday, 12 July 2026.
Course Options
44km Bicycle Event – Esk to Fernvale
20km Bicycle Event – Coominya to Fernvale
8km Run/Walk Event – Lowood to Fernvale
3km Run/Walk Event – Vernor to Fernvale
The 3km, 8km, and 20km events start at 9am from their respective locations, and finishes at Fernvale Sports Park, Brouff Road.
The 44km bike ride starts at 8:30am and finishes at Fernvale Sports Park, Brouff Road.
