Offering a wide range of recreational aeronautical activities and facilities for anyone with an interest in aviation. A unique historical airfield close to the city but outside controlled airspace, providing facilities for recreational and commercial operators covering all facets of aviation. If it flies, it is welcome at Watts.
Fair to say that the crazy winds has had an effect on the Gathering of Eagles. Still: Some remarkable warbirds are on display as well as a smattering of general aviation aircraft, vintage cars and motorcycles. Lotsa food and drink on offer and many people are still having a big day out.
Best news is that the Air Display scheduled for 4:00PM is still definitely ON and that is not to be missed. It's not too late 😎
Today, 17 August 2017, the new ERSA is current and as a result of the formalisation of runway 12L/30R the circuit procedures have changed. Please make yourself familiar with these procedures prior to operating at Watts Bridge.
Many many thanks to Gary Clark - creator of The Swamp for the special cartoons illustrating the changes in circuit procedures and possible outcomes of everyone not being fully prepared. Please support Gary by visiting The Swamp Website at www.swamp.com.au
**** ATTENTION ALL PILOTS ****
As we all know - at a major fly-in the airspace can get a little busy. So we have put together a comprehensive Pilot's Information Sheet which covers everything you will need to know to operate safely at the Gathering of Eagles which can be downloaded from http://www.wattsbridge.com.au/files/promotions/goe2017_pilot_info.pdf
Pilots should also see the website for the amended circuit procedures which will be in effect at Watts Bridge.
